福岡市生まれ。東京芸術大学美術学部工芸科卒。トヨタ自動車デザイン部でクラウン、マーク?、セルシオ等の乗用車デザインを手がける。2001年より現職。各社デザインコンサルタントを担当しながら、ロシア、台湾、日本国内のデザイン教育機関での講演や指導を行っている。また、国内外のデザインコンペ審査員やフォーラム講師なども数多い。
○主な受賞：日本カーオブジイヤー賞、カースタイリング誌ゴールデンマーカー賞、米インポートカーオブジイヤー賞、米交通局TRAMデザインコンペ最優秀賞受賞、2003年アートセンターカレッジオブ デザイン・イメージメーカー選定など。
○主な実績：世界グラフィックデザイン会議名古屋開催運営会理事（2003）、 各社デザインコンサルタント、2005年世界博覧会トヨタIMTSバスデザイン開発およびトヨタI-footロボットデザイン開発など。

Kunihiro Uchida was born in Fukuoka City. After graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, he started working for the Design Department at Toyota Motor Corporation handling projects on automobile designs of the Crown, Mark II, and Lexus LS400. Kunihiro Uchida was designated Managing Director of the International Design Center Nagoya in 2001, and has been conducting seminars and trainings at design institutes in Japan, Russia and Taiwan. He often serves as jury for design competitions home and abroad as well as gives lectures at numerous forums. [Major awards received] Car of the Year Japan, Golden Marker Award of Car Styling Magazine, Import Car of the Year (USA), Best Award from the Federal Transit Administration (USA ), Image Maker of Art Center College of Design (USA), and others.
