IdcN Collection Exhibition Series vol.22
“LIFE” | America: Birth of Photojournalism Magazine (until August 20)
Collection Exhibition Series are the exhibitions introducing the American Art Deco Collection of the International Design Center NAGOYA, on a theme-by-theme basis, each time. The 22nd ““LIFE” America: Birth of Photojournalism Magazine” is being held at the Design Gallery.
“LIFE” is a photographic magazine published in the United States in the latter half of the 1930s and has made up a style of “photojournalism magazine” that conveys the contents of the report from a visual approach rather than sentences, mainly on excellent photographs.
In this Exhibition, we will exhibit about 100 volumes published in about three years, from the first issue of 1936 to those until just before the outbreak of the World War Second, and will introduce the movement of the society and the lives of people in the 1930s captured by photographers of the time, and the charm of graphics in magazine design as well.
Venue: Design Gallery, International Design Center NAGOYA (Admission free)
Dates: July 21-August 20, 2017 11:00-19:00 (Closed on Tuesdays)
Organizer: International Design Center NAGOYA Inc.
