Design has the power to clearly convey the value of the brand and attract the interest of users. The design management which incorporates a design perspective into management and business strategy draws attention, now, we will hold a talk session on how to utilize the power of design and the transmission of brand messages, spotlighting the utilization of “design rights” and “trademark rights” that are indispensable for the practice and visualization of them.
Under the Design Law, which was drastically revised in April last year, the scope of protection of “design” is not only products, but has also　been expanded to images, buildings, and interiors, and there is a high potential for incorporating design rights into business activities. In addition, what is often overlooked in branding is the acquisition of “trademark” rights such as naming and logotypes for company names, product / service names, etc. There are various types of trademarks, not only letters and logos, but also forms, sounds, colors, and a series of movements.
This time, in addition to the lecturers of the Japan Patent Office and METI CHUBU, an expert in spacial / display design will be invited as a speaker. While touching on “design thinking”, we will, in a casual manner, deliver the relationship between design  and trademarks, that are directly related to business.
