An exhibition of original Komon (fine) patterns designs of Ise-katagami (Ise dyeing pattern paper) created freely from different perspectives.
The participants in this exhibition are members of Aichi and other district of Japan Graphic Design Association Inc., Aichi (JAGDA Aichi), as well as design-related university and college students in Aichi Prefecture. Under the theme of “Tsunagu (connecting)”, the exhibition will propose new designs by combining the traditional craft of Isekatagami with graphic design. The exhibition features works that rediscover the appeal of Ise-katagami and connect it to the future through creativity that transcends generations.
The participants will use their individuality to demonstrate the new possibilities of Ise-katagami through works that intersect “tradition” and “modernity”.
