The winners of the JAGDA New Designer Awards are chosen from among those targeted for the Rookie of the Year Awards in the annual, Graphic Design in Japan. In 2010, the three award-winning designers are Shogo Kishino, Rikako Nagashima and Hideto Yagi. They were chosen from 211 eligible contestants (JAGDA members aged 39 or less as of October 31, 2009), as individuals who, as Hiroaki Nagai, chief editor of the annual in 2010, wrote, “Have possibilities that are palpable, since the definition of the New Designers Award is the expectation placed on one’s future efforts.” (Hiroaki Nagai, chief editor of Graphic Design in Japan 2010)
At the Nagoya exhibition, the work of the three winners will be displayed and an open lecture, gallery talk & mini party will be held during the exhibition period.
