Title of work | Space for both people and animal |
Concept of the work | Although mankind has prospered, we have also stolen and destroyed the habitats of many animals. Also, in the world that we have created, it seems that the warm feelings of "protecting nature" and "living together" are weakening in each individual. We must stop feeling uneasy about our uncertain future. As an alternative, I propose an environment which serves as a bridge to the future by fundamentally reexamining relationships and creating connections between people and animals. The coexistence of people and animals will encourage people to value life, thus creating a positive and bright future. |
Judge's Comment | The work submitted for the First Screening proposed the appealing idea of using open spaces in cities to create coexistence between people and animals. However, the proposal submitted for the Final Screening was developed in a different direction. The designer proposed an idea of making artificial reeds. However, this is nothing more than the production of more goods which will eventually turn into garbage. In my opinion, this problem still exists even if biodegradable plastic is used. The use of manmade products to create an unnatural environment is not a solution. However, I hope that the designer will give further consideration to this very interesting theme. |
