Honorable Mention

Title: Light Boundarie-Z

Comcept: Inspired by the traffic pylons, the Z formed modular structure performs as a boundary illumination. It invites people to play and create their own customized spaces to rest. As the form consists of different scaled modules, which are provided to enhance the visual complexity, it can grow to all the dimensions with which people are allowed to fit them into different contexts. It contains the light and is activated as it contacts the human. The emitted light is configured linearly and will carry on reacting to a multitude of contacts this will create a flow moving through the structure. Internally, the flow is perceived as a boundary of space, whereas, externally, it is perceived as a visual indicator of flow. Inside and out the structure promotes interaction, as the resulting textural environment will intermediate between the viewers and users. It is a way to explore illumination as a way of communication with someone else.

Coment: This is a challenging work that keeps with the recent trend in architecture. "Modulized" illumination has the potential of becoming one of the means of creating spatial scenes of the 21st century.
At the second judging, specific advice was given concerning the material, volume, and method of installation. It would be interesting to actually set up a prototype and observe the reaction of viewers.
