Title: | LIFE ALARM | |
|
||
Comcept: | People often walks indifferently
by people who have collapsed or lain unconscious because there is a psychological
barrier or passers-by simply think that the lying people are drunk. In most
cases, life loss in the street or in a public place could be avoided if
passers-by were given a clear signal. Life Alarm is designed for people with risk of life loss. For the main risk group which will be the consumer of Alarm, I have chosen a group at risk from heart attack - the sick with coronary, hypertension, genetic predisposition and the elderly, risk group are diabetics, also for the sick and elders living alone. Life Alarm alarms other people when the user is unconscious. It shines with red pulsing light and emits sharp sound, heard by passers-by in the street or neighbors. Alarm must be noticed by a witness, call his attention, make him act, and give an explicit signal that help is needed. That is why the alarming light is red. Red is a colour which calls attention. Life Alarm is a simple, modern, ordinary bracelet which in case of danger turns into real alarm which one cannot ignore. |

Coment: | The Grand@Prix winner has proposed an excellent work; it not only strongly matches the theme "For Someone Else" but presents potential risks that could happen in everyday life in our society. Unsure what to do, we may hesitate when encountered by a person lying unconscious on the street. This alarm will be a very useful communication tool under such circumstances. A signal that informs others of one's crisis holds potential for designs that communicate a message in critical situations. A life almost lost due to the indifference of others could be saved with the LIFE ALARM. This work is highly feasible and the technological and mechanical problems yet to be dealt with are likely to be solved in the near future. | |
